On average 15.56% of all UK boiler breakdowns happen in January; this is caused by our boilers having to work harder to heat our homes and businesses on a daily basis. These breakdowns usually start as small problems that might have initially been missed or ignored and go on to develop into more serious problems which can cause a boiler to breakdown.
Prevention is better than cure
The most effective way to prevent a boiler breakdown and minimise costs is to invest in regular boiler servicing. Boilers should ideally be serviced once every 12 months from the date they are installed as this helps to:
Maintain your boiler guarantee – When you have your boiler installed by manufacturer accredited engineers such as ourselves, your boiler guarantee can last up to 12 years dependent upon which manufacturer, boiler and filter you choose.
Reduce your energy bills – An annual boiler and filter service helps to ensure your boiler is operating as efficiently as possible and minimises heating fuel wastage saving you money on energy bills and reducing your carbon footprint.
Save money on boiler repairs – An annual service usually discovers the minor problems which if left can become a major repair. If your engineer identifies a fault during your service, they can usually repair the problem then and there.
Keeps you warm – When a service is conducted before the colder months hit and a fault is found, it can be fixed, and you don’t have to go without heating whilst your boiler is being repaired. We recommend servicing your boiler between August to early October, although a service can be completed at any time of year.
